Design, Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of Groundnut Dehulling and Separating Machine

The process of oil extraction can be enhanced by dehulling, produced from groundnut seeds serve as a good source protein, vitamin, fat, oil, and crude fibers. A dehulling machine was developed, having two rollers, rubber beaters, screen, blower unit, seed chaff outlet. separator unit has centrifugal blower, screen collecting tray. It’s powered 3 hp electric motor, which transmits constant speed 3636 rpm to the 1000 beaters. Groundnut used at 7.32% moisture content (w.b). Dehulling achieved through compression shearing action rotating roller against stationary roller. effect clearance (6.5 mm,7.0 mm, 7.35 mm 7.5 mm) (700 750 rpm) evaluated on efficiency, capacity, mechanical damage separation efficiency. result obtained after testing shows that 700 gave optimum average efficiency 95.80%, 81.40% least 11.01%. Machine capacity 97.98 kg h-1. 7 clearance. results during evaluation statistically analyzed, multiple linear model equations are capable predicting developed.
